Studio portrait of 1954 Private Walter Leo Lussick, 45th Battalion of Auburn, NSW. A clerk prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Warilda (A69) on 22 April 1916. He was wounded on 19 January 1917 when struck by a shell in a trench at Flers, France. He died while being stretchered to the casualty station, aged 20. He is buried in the AIF Burial Ground, Flers, France.
