Studio portrait of 5672 Private Ernest Andrew Clarkson,1st Battalion of Granville, NSW. A labourer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Kyarra (A55) on 3 June 1916. He was killed in action, on 5 November 1916 near Gueudecourt, France during the advance on Flers, France, aged 25. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
