Description
Collection of letters, diaries and papers of and relating to NX1574 Lance Corproal Roy S M 'Woop' Waters, who served with 2/2 and 2/11 Battalion in Second World War, including active duty as batman to Lt Col Charles H 'Charlie' Green, Commanding Officer of 2/11 Battalion in Aitape-Wewak campaign in South West Pacific Area during the Second World War.
This material was used by Olwyn Green (widow of Lt Col C Green) in the writing of her book "The name's still Charlie" and contains many of her research notes written at the time. For the collection of Lt Col C Green see PR00466.
