Studio portrait of 3250 Private (Pte) later Second Corporal (2nd Cpl) William George Booler, Anzac Provost Corps, of Stanmore NSW. A musician prior to enlistment, he embarked from Sydney on 2 November 1915. Posted to the Anzac Provost Corps at Abbassia in Egypt, he was sent to England on 3 August 1916, and from there was posted to the Anzac Provost Police Corps BEF in France on 7 December 1916. Pte Booler was then attached for duty with the 4th Australian Division on 19 January 1917, and was still serving with his unit in January 1919. He was then posted to England, where he was promoted to 2nd Cpl on 14 February 1919, eventually returning to Australia on 12 March 1920. The back of the photograph is inscribed "Souvenir a La Guerre Pour Vois [Vous] To Florrie from Will"
