Informal portrait of 414154 Leading Aircraftman Norman Gregor McIntyre, RAAF, of Cairns, Qld. Norman McIntyre was a clerk prior to enlisting in August 1941. He was attached to No. 97 Squadron, RAF, on 5 December 1943 and promoted to Flying Officer (FO) on 14 December 1943. FO McIntyre was the navigator on board Lancaster JA 963 which crashed during operations over Berlin on the night of 16 December 1943. FO McIntyre and the seven other crew members on board were killed. FO McIntyre was 24 years of age.
