Description

Studio portrait of two cousins from Pomborneit North, Vic. Left is V170264 Private (Pte) Harry James Boyd, 2/6 Battalion, who enlisted on 3 October 1941. Harry Boyd later enlisted in the RAAF, service number 427775, and obtained the rank of Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt). Flt Sgt Boyd was killed on 23 March 1945, aged 22, in an aircraft accident over Vansittart Bay, WA. Right is V170263 Pte Charles Cooper Boyd, 58/59 Battalion, who also enlisted on 3 October 1941. He was killed in action in Bougainville on 17 March 1945, aged 22.
