Studio portrait of 2160 Private (Pte) Gerald Patrick Heavey, 1st Battalion, of Katoomba, NSW. An orchardist prior to enlistment on 16 February 1917, claiming to be 18 years old. Pte Heavey was wounded and admitted to the 15th Casualty Clearing Station Hospital, France on 17 April 1918; he died a few hours later, aged 17. Pte Heavey is buried at the Ebblinghem Military Cemetery, France.
