Studio portrait of 187 Private (Pte) Fred Flowers, 1st Field Ambulance, Army Medical Corps. Pte Flowers, a painter from Kensington, NSW prior to enlistment, embarked from Sydney on HMAT Euripides on 20 October 1914. On 18 September 1917 he was killed in action, aged 28, and was buried in The Huts Cemetery, Belgium.
