History / Summary
Standard issue Australian Army underpants from the 1950s.
The green issued underwear was not always popular with Australian soldiers or officers, who often substituted them with privately purchased items. However, they were considered to make excellent polishing and cleaning cloths due to the high quality of cotton in their manufacture, and were widely utilised for this purpose.
