Corporal (Cpl) Col Alex Hortle, C Squadron, 5th Aviation Regiment (5 AVN) test fires the MAG58 ramp gun over the Registan desert from the ramp of Australian Army CH-47D Chinook A15-202. One of a series of photographs captured by the Australian Photographer Gary Ramage during a combat crew training mission south of Kandahar Air Base in Southern Afghanistan. Mission Duration 3.9 Hours. Other crew onboard the aircraft included Captain (Capt) James (Jim) Crowe (Pilot), Cpl Matthew Wilson (Aircrewman Technician), Captain Andrew McConville (Pilot) and WO2 Ian Griffiths (Aircrewman).
