Corporal (Cpl) Matthew (Matt) Dobson, C Squadron, 5th Aviation Regiment (5 AVN) mans the left minigun of Australian Army CH-47D Chinook A15-202 during a combat training sortie, Registan desert. Cpl Dobson later noted "The Australian flag on the roof is a personal item, each crew member carried their own. The rifle bag to the left of the gunner is placed to be used if the minigun fails. Above the left row of seats on the stretcher is the combat packs for each of the crew, if the aircraft is disabled and must be abandoned".
