Description
Collection relating to the Second World War service of NX31064 Corporal Richard Robert James Ambrose, 2/30 Battalion. Collections consists of letters to family written during 1941 and early 1942 detailing camp life, training in Bathurst and experiences in Malaya; dinner menu from AIF Commanding Officers Dinner at Mess Military Camp in Bathurst in July 1941; Commemorative scroll from King George; Hand drawn map depicting Gemis and Boong villages, a rubber plantation and railway line. Corporal Amrose was killed in action in Malaya on 15 January 1942.
