Pre enlistment studio portrait of 4931 Private (Pte) William Williams, 51st Battalion, of Perth, WA (originally of Aberystwyth, North Wales). A seaman and lumper prior to enlistment, he embarked from Fremantle, WA with the 15th Reinforcements aboard HMAT Ulysses on 1 April 1916. Pte Williams was killed in action on 29 September 1917. He was 32 years of age.
