Informal outdoor portrait of 387016 (446735, V158149, VX135431) Sergeant (Sgt) Norman Strange (left), NX700426 (N454409) Private (Pte) Frank Partridge (centre) and V161157 Private (Pte) Ewald Herbert Uebergang (right) on the dock at Port Melbourne before boarding HMAS Shropshire for the Victory march in England. Sgt Strange enlisted on 17 April 1939 at Ballarat and served with the 8 Battalion and was awarded the Military Medal. He survived the war and was discharged on 13 September 1946. Victoria Cross recipient NX700426 (N454409) Private (Pte) Frank Partridge enlisted on 21 December 1942 at Macksville, NSW. Pte Partridge survived the war and was discharged on 17 October 1946. V161157 Private (Pte) Ewald Herbert Uebergang enlisted on 13 January 1942 at Hawkensdale, Victoria and was discharged on 18 August 1942.
