Description
Hand coloured studio portrait of 6530 Private (Pte) Harold George Lloyd, 3rd Battalion. Pte Lloyd, a labourer from Wagga Wagga NSW, enlisted on 23 June 1916 and embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, aboard HMAT Ceramic (A40 )on 7 October 1916. He was killed in action in France on 9 April 1917 and is buried at the Beaumetz Cross Roads Cemetery (Row F, Grave No. 4), Beaumetz-les-Cambrai, France. Pte Lloyd was 31. A sticker removed from the reverse of the print's badly deteriorated backing board reads: "This Picture was made and framed by the Eagle Portrait Company, 182 Campbell Street Sydney"
