Untitled [sketches of German Prisoners of War]
Description
A small sheet composed of seven sketches of German Prisoners of War (POW) c.1914 - 1918. The portraits are in varying states of completion with the words ' Bavarian' , 'Prussian' and 'NCO' inscribed underneath the three most worked up. The sketches seem to have been drawn from life by a competent artist perhaps with commercial training. They are an attempt to record German Prisoner of War ' types'.
