Studio portrait of 3530 Private (Pte) Robert John Fulton, 4th Battalion. Pte Fulton, a labourer from Ryde NSW, enlisted on 1 July 1915 and embarked on board HMAT A17 Port Lincoln from Sydney on 13 October 1915. He disembarked in Egypt in early 1916 and was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal (L Cpl) and transferred to the 53rd Battalion. L Cpl Fulton was killed in action on 19 July 1916 at Fromelles (Fleurbaix) France. He has no known grave and is commemorated at the VC Corner Australian Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles, France.
