Description
Group portrait of members of the 2nd Australian Infantry Brigade band. A puppy 'Frisco' the band's mascot sits on the lap of the soldier front row, centre. Possible identifications are from left to right, back row: 1310 Private (Pte) John (Jack) Nelson, 5th Battalion; 1185 Pte Herbert Gordon (Bert) Scown, 7th Battalion; Pte M Pumper; 3008 Pte Henry Waters (Harry) Ashby; Sergeant (Sgt) Renny; 4580 Pte Frederick Arthur Presnell, 6th Battalion (later Lieutenant); and 5489 Pte James Valentine Brown, 8th Battalion.
