Mixed Collection album relating to Karl Jongling
Album of 112 pages containing 255 photographs, 7 newspaper cuttings, 11 greeting cards, 7 postcards, pressed flowers/plants, tickets, 1 menu, 7 handkerchiefs all relating to the family and friends of the Dennis family of Bathurst, NSW, during the Second World War. One of the family, Margaret Dennis, married Karl Jongling who served on the Royal Dutch Navy Ship HNLMS Tromp. Some items relate to the 2/17 Battalion, including a trench newspaper "The Awful Truth" volume 3, number 3 produced in Tobruk. One image in this album is of Jack Edmondson (awarded a posthumous VC) with Jack Gambling in camp at Bathurst. Other subjects include images of the 2/26 Battalion in Malaya, some named Prisoners of War, 7th and 8th Division marches, personalities and activities, many relating to people who originated from Bathurst.
