Identified Australian servicemen: back row first on the left: Major Theodore Frederick Ulrich DSO, 6th Battalion, a clerk from Brunswick Victoria embarked from Melbourne on 19 October 1914 on the HMAT Hororata (A20); fourth row position 13 from the left: Major Montague Sharp Brearley, 16th Battalion, embarked from Fremantle on the HMAT Benalla on 1 November 1915; Third Row position 26 from the left: Major Blair Anderson Wark DSO, 30th Battalion, embarked from Melbourne on 19 October 1914 on the HMAT Hororata (A20), he was awarded a Victoria Cross; Second row position 21 fromt the left: Major William Francis H Robertson, 37th Battalion, embarked from Melbourne on the HMAT Persic (A34) on 3 June 1914; Second Row Continued position six from the left: Major Eric William Stutchbury, 3rd Battalion, a civil servant from Drummoyne New South Wales embarked from Sydney on the HMAT Seang Choon (A49) on 11 February 1915, awarded a Military Cross.
