Description

Small piece of cloth stamped with Prisoner of War details. Two chevrons are stamped on the top left hand side in dark blue ink, denoting the rank of Corporal. The Japanese character for 'prisoner' is stamped on the top right hand side in light blue ink. Beneath are two illegible symbols stamped in light blue ink. The cloth is made of undyed bast fiber.

History / Summary

Associated with VX52218 Corporal Donald Francis Graham, 8 Australian Division Signals. He enlisted on 27 March 1941 in Royal Park, Victoria. He was taken prisoner in Singapore on 17 February 1942 and was kept as a Prisoner of War in Osaka, Japan. He was discharged on 21 December 1945.
