Letters from Robert Edmund Antill to his Parents, 1916
Description
Letters relating to the First World War service of 1228 Corporal Robert Edmund Antill, 14 Battalion.
The letters were written by Robert Antill to his parents between 5 January 1916 and 31 December 1916. In the letters, Antill articulates his desire to return to the front and relays the results of his search for his uncle, Walter, who was fighting in France at the time. He also discusses his wounding while attending to a wounded German soldier in No Man's Land and his subsequent return to England for convalescence.
