Transcribed letterbook relating to the First World War service of Captain Harold Edwin Salisbury Armitage, 50th Battalion. The original letterbook was sent by Captain Armitage to his Parents and written between 2 December 1915 to 4 June 1916. The letters cover the activities of the company, receipt of Christmas billies, his reflections on progress of the war and his appointment to Captaincy.
