Description
Naval Long Service & Good Conduct Medal. Impressed on the edge with the recipient's name, rank, unit and date. Obverse: The young head of Queen Victoria with 'VICTORIA' to the left and 'REGINA' to the right. Reverse: A three masted man-of-war surrounded by a rope tied at the base with a reef knot and around the circumference 'FOR LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT'. The medal is fitted with a short straight swivelling suspender and a piece of 33 mm blue ribbon which has 7 mm white edges.
History / Summary
Awarded Chief Bosun, Royal Naval Coastguard for 32 years long service in the Royal Navy. Gibson also served in the Baltic, Mediterranean and in New Zealand.
