Members of the 54th Battalion Headquarters at Prince Rupert's Dugout during a visit by official historian Captain (Capt) Charles Bean and Capt F M Cutlack, the new official AIF correspondent. Front row, left to right: Capt F M Cutlack; Capt N B Lovett; Capt C H L Leedman; Major F D Oatley; Capt C E W Bean; unidentified; Lieutenant (Lt) H E Staples. Also identified are Lt E P Kinsella (second row, behind unidentified serviceman); Lt W T R Green (second row, on left of Kinsella; and Lt H Brewer (behind left shoulder of Staples). The signs read, `Prince Rupert's Dugout' and `Avoid unnecessary movement. Do not loiter here'.
