Description
A compilation of selected pieces from the video diary of Senior Warrant Officer Steve Downey, who documented his deployment on Operation Slipper with HMAS Toowoomba in 2010. SWO Downey records several months in the ship board life of an Australian naval crew, capturing everything from boarding parties to fire drills to birthday parties and gym time on deck; evacuations, resupplies, R&R in port, dress regulations for going ashore in Muslim countries, a memorial service at sea and managing ship board conditions - such as how to stop the air conditioner breaking down in 40-plus degree heat.
