Warrant Officer Class Two John (Matt) Lines
Description
Matt Lines served in Afghanistan in September 2008 with Mentoring and Reconstruction Task Force 1 (MRTF 1). With the rank of sergeant he was a platoon mentor for an Operational Mentoring and Liaison team (OMLT). He was awarded a Medal of Gallantry, the third highest military honour, for his actions under fire on 4 January 2009.
