Studio portrait of Herman August Kuring
Description
Studio portrait of W242886 Temporary Lieutenant Colonel Herman August Kuring. Kuring enlisted on 18 August 1914 in the 8th Battalion with service number 626. He embarked at Melbourne on the Troop Transport Ship A24 Benalla and returned to Australia on A32 Thermistocles. He again served in the Second World War and enlisted from the Reserve of Officers as a Major for duty with the 10th Garrison Battalion, Perth WA. He died on the 3 September 1941 at Wilson's Bay, Rottnest Island due to an accidental drowning, his body was never found.
