Officer's service dress tunic : 3rd (Auckland) Regiment, New Zealand Rifles
New Zealand Army officer's khaki woollen service dress tunic with oxidised brass rank insignia of captain. The patch pockets on the breast are pleated and the bottom edge of the flaps are slightly scalloped. Below the waistband, which has a brass belt hook on the left side, are large plain bellows style patch pockets. The New Zealand Army general service buttons, collar badges, and curved 'NZR' shoulder titles, are brass. The collar badges are those of the 3rd (Auckland) Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own), New Zealand Rifles. The badge is a mailed arm clasping a sheaf of wheat, with 'SISIT PRUDENTIA / 3rd AUCK REGIMENT N.Z. INFANTRY' in a two tier scroll below it. A pair of buttons fasten the pointed cuffs. The tunic is fully lined with green cotton. A pocket with a vertical slit opening has been let into the lining of the left breast.
