Lunching on the lawns (AWAS members)
Description
These members of the Australian Women's Army Service (AWAS), employed at office work at the Maintenance (Tank) Depot, 1 Australian Base Ordnance Depot, receive sustenance allowance and on a sunny days, spend their lunch hour on the lawns opposite the Depot in Sturt Street, South Melbourne. Two unidentified personnel are depicted reclining on grass with a sandwich box and thermos flask in the foreground beside them.
