Portrait of Brigadier Sir Neil Fairley, CBE, FRS, MD, DSc (Melb), FRCP (Lond), FRACP, DTM&H, Director of Medicine, Land Headquarters South West Pacific Area, Australian Army Medical Service; Chairman, Combined Advisory Committee to General MacArthur on Tropical Medicine Hygiene and Sanitation SWPA. Fairley was Director of Medicine LHQ 1942-45. This painting was made from photographs and a previous portrait of Fairley by Dargie, dated 1943, in the family's possession.
