Scenes aboard Royal Mail Steamer 'Osterley'
Description
Film taken by the assistant official Australian photographer Sergeant W H Joyce on the Royal Mail steamer 'Osterley'. This was not a troopship and carried civilian passengers as well as soldiers. The first scene is of ladies standing in front of the camera wearing early 20th century dress. Following scenes of men and soldiers on deck participating in what may be a raffle or similar activity. The remaining scenes show the shores of the Suez Canal.
