Lord Wakehurst visits New Britain
Description
Official visit of the Governor of NSW, Lord Wakehurst, Lady Wakehurst, Lady Blamey and Lieutenant- Colonel D H Dwyer, military assistant to the Commander in Chief, to Jacquinot Bay area, New Britain. Arrival by Lockheed Hudson aircraft, inspecting Guard of Honour from 4th Australian Infantry Brigade, anti-tank gun crew training, Owen sub-machine gun training and firing blindfolded, inspection of 105 Casualty Clearing Station (CCS) and 2/8th Australian General Hospital (AGH), talks to battle casualties and hospital patients.
