Surf carnival with Blamey
Description
On Sunday 14 July 1940 the 2nd AIF held a beach carnival at Gaza Beach. The programme consisted of ten events which catered for over 300 swimmers and entertainment for 400 men. Lieutenant General Sir Thomas Blamey presented the trophies to the winners. Identified personnel are; Major General I G Mackay and Brigadier H C H Robertson.
