Embarkation on Queen Mary
Description
Troops arrive at Pyrmont Sydney by train and embark on Sydney Harbour ferries to be moved to Woollmooloo to embark on HMT Aquitania; also to be ferried out to the HMT Queen Mary. Queen Mary and Aquitania sailed from Sydney on 20 October 1940, convoy US6. The Governor General, Lord Gowrie VC, PC, GCMG, CB inspects troops on the wharf.
