Embarkation Melbourne
Description
Port Melbounre, Victoria, 18 July 1940, six officers and one hundred and sixteen airman of No 1 Squadron RAAF, and six members of No 21 Squadron RAAF, embarked on the HMTS Orontes for Singapore. Wirraway aircraft being loaded on the Orontes. Sailors and airmen crowd upper deck waving as Orontes sails away. Orontes being towed by tug.
