Noise course, Townsville
Description
Townsville, Queensland 18-19 July 1942. A manoeuvre was carried out by the 11th Australian Brigade to accustom the troops to the noises they are likely to hear in actual warfare. Troops advancing through bush over barbed wire with explosions and guns firing around them. RAAF Wirraways drop bombs. Major General E J Milford, DSO, Commander HQ 5 Australian Division, watches the manoeuvre with Major J A Krause of the 11th Brigade.
