ANGAU rehabilitation Bougainville
Description
From Australian New Guinea Adminstrative Unit War Diaries and other records it is assumed that the film covers the general rehabilitation of Bougainvillean people as territory previously held by the Japanese was re-occupied. Scenes include the clearing of land for rebuilding of local villages and gardens, air-dropping of food and medical supplies for ANGAU and the general population, and medical care of local people. There are also scenes of ground and air attacks on enemy positions, arming aircraft and leaflet dropping.
