Description
American landing force at sea escorted by Australian and American warships. Landing on Biak Island by part of 41st US Division at 06.30 am on 27 May 1944 watched by two Australian observes - Major F A Rundle and Lieutenant C F Thompson. Javanese prisoners released from Japanese; Japanese aircraft attacking beach positions and the destruction of three out of four of the attacking aircraft.
