Description
Landing and advance on Labuan Island by troops of 24th Aust. Infantry Brigade. They were supported by Matilda tanks from 2/9th Australian Armoured Regiment. An RAAF Airfield Construction Unit of 1st Tactical Air Force (TAF) working on Labuan airstrip. Identified personnel: Corporal E.R. Hooper, Rear Admiral Forrest B. Royal USN, Major-General G.F. Wooten, Lieutenant-General Sir Leslie Morshead, Brigadier S.H.W.C. Porter, Corporal Ernie Florence.
