Description
On Saturday 21 Aug 1943 a Federal Election was held. This subject was filmed to give an example of the difficulties under which voting is carried out in some outposts. Patients and staff in an AGH cast their vote. Troops in open voting. Deputy Returning Officer for the North Western area, a major, arriving at a lonely outpost to collect votes. He and his staff wade ashore from motor launch and set up polling booth on beach. Identified personnel: Lieutenant Cavell Becher AAMC, Gunner J. McNamara, AANS Sister Lieutenant M.L. Reilly, Captain D.M. Pender.
