Spitfires arrive in Darwin
The item is designed to commence with an Army private engaged in some occupation when he hears a plane, looks up, cannot recognise it, calls his fellows, gets field glasses and identifies it as a Spitfire. Then the first Spitfire comes in to land, followed by others. The pilots build their own mess, dig their own slit trenches etc. (the building shots are done with the English squadron). They are seen seated round a table playing poker with pistols, before running. Followed by shots of aircraft taxi-ing out to take off. Dolly shot of take-off gets them into the air, to be followed by pansy formations if desirable. Squadron (or flight) returns from successfully shooting down a reconnaissance aircraft. The victor hops out of aircraft, and is congratulated by fellow pilots and Commanding Officer and is interrogated by Intelligence Officer.
