Buna Gona front
Description
Australian commando at their observation post. Showing men at foot of tree, surrounded by water, light very bad here on account of jungle overhead. Men climbing tree and several shots of lookout at top, 50 feet from the ground. Rations are carried out about every two days, men walk about 30 yards away to get clean water for drinking. Identified personnel: Colonel A J MacNabe (US), Captain C A Mueller, Major W H Hall, Lieutenant D S Compton, Colonel C A Martin (US).
