Native festival
Description
For three years the natives were unable to hold their New Year festival under the Japanese occupation. Australian New Guinea Administrative Unit (ANGAU) organised a festival attended by approximately two thousand five hundred natives. Shows some of the events; spear throwing, fire making, coconut shy, wood chopping, boxing and native dancing.
