German newsreel circa March 1944. Commentary in German. Items covered: 1. 'Personality of the week', the German writer von Muenchausen at his castle in Altenburg. 2. Mediterranean, aqualung diver and under water camera. 3. Slovakia celebrates its fifth year of independence under the dictator Monsignor Tiso. Includes scene of Tiso reviewing Slovak Army and Airforce flypast. 4. Field Marshal Pietro Badoglio, Mussolini's replacement who signed a peace treaty with the Allies. 5. French volunteers for the Waffen SS. 6. A welcome home at Zarbrucken for German wounded soldiers and civilian internees from the United States and Mexico as the result of an exchange. 7. Radio broadcasts of letters written by family and on air greetings by wives and children to German sailors. 8. Goliath remote controlled tank explodes on contact and destroys a Soviet SU-122 assault gun. 9. Rail transportation of Pzkw V Panther tanks to the Eastern front. Troops of the Waffen SS in winter fighting. 10. A German observation balloon and various heavy weapons used at the front including 88 mm guns and PzKpfw VI Tiger tanks. 11. Allied daylight bomber raid, Luftwaffe Messerschmidt Bf-109 and Focke-Wulf Fw-190 fighter aircraft scramble to intercept.
