Description
Cinesound newsreel circa 1950. Coverage of the Communist advance on Taegu. Shows fleeing civilians and South Korean troops. USAF spotter aircraft Cessnas and Texans. Pilots at Taegu. P-51 Mustangs armed with naplam and 500lb iron bombs. USAF P-51s attacking enemy positions with rockets. US assault on Hill 660. Bodies of dead North Koreans. Enemy shelling of village. North Korean POW. The first pictures of British troops in Korea, the Argyll and Southern Highlanders. P-51s of No.77 Squadron RAAF attack enemy positions near Hill 660 with with rocket, napalm and .50 cal. machine guns. Wing Commander Lou Spence, DFC was shot down and killed in this attack.
