Gun practice practice on ship, street scenes
Description
Shots taken en route to India on board MV Penrith Castle. The shots taken show Royal Navy and Royal Artillery personel operating the 4 inch gun astern at smoke-float targets. The Oerlikon gun practice was at a parachute sent up by a rocket; crews as above. The street scenes in these shots are typical of the native quarters visited by service personnel on leave. The RAAF tender appearing in some shots belongs to RAAF Liaison Headquarters in New Delhi and is engaged in normal duty.
