Arrival Melbourne
Description
Shows arrival of the "Tamaroa" at Princes Wharf, Melbourne on 16 October 1945 and arrival of the "Stratheden" at Railway Wharf, Melbourne on 17 October 1945. The "Stratheden" coming in to wharf, personnel disembarking, loading trucks, trucks leaving wharf, Procession at Town Hall corner, Relatives waiting at the Cricket Ground and Airmen arriving at the Cricket Ground. Brief shot of people on upper level of ship holding a large Nazi flag over the railing. Several strong shots of families, wives and relatives smiling and embracing the returning servicemen; a returned airman plays a game of hoop throw outside a house.
