Description
Bomber Command Operational Film No 207 daylight attack on Gilze-Rijen night fighter airfield in occupied Holland 15 August 1944. Lancaster (code L) of No 463 Sqn RAAF carried film unit of Pilot Officer Kimberley (camera 1), Flight Sergeant Steel (camera 2) and was piloted by Flight Lieutenant (F/Lt) Merril. Filmed from a height of 15,000 ft between 12.09 pm and 12.15 pm. Mosquito (code H) of No 627 Sqn RAF pilot F/Lt Hanlon and camera and navigator F/Lt Tice. Filmed from height of 8000 ft at 12.05 pm. Shows aircraft over target, the bomb drop and flak bursts.
