The jail breakers (Ops 68)
Description
The raid on Amiens prison by Mosquito aircraft of No. 215 Squadron RAF and No. 464 Squadron RAAF. The purpose of the operation was to breach the prison walls thereby enabling the escape of members of the French resistance who were imprisioned there awaiting execution. Shows Mosquitoes lined up on the runway and bombing up prior to the raid. Mosquito of No. 21 Sqn RAF taking off. An animated map of the flight path over the channel.
